Our Vision
To raise up a holy generation of believers desperate for One Thing:
to know and love God.
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.

CrossPoint Church Goals and Vision for 2008
God is at work at CrossPoint Church!
2007 we celebrated our 50th anniversary and the
Year of Jubilee and we re-launched CrossPoint Church into our community with a new name and a new focus on reaching the un-churched for Christ. Also, in 2007 we began CrossPoint PM, a Sunday evening worship service targeted at reaching un-churched people with a post modern world view. Here are some of the plans and goals that God has given our church Leadership Team for 2008 and beyond:
Worship: God is blessing our worship services and we will continue to do worship on Sunday at 10 AM for families and children, worship on Sunday night at 6 PM for young adults and worship on Wednesday night at 6 PM for our youth group. We will continue to be consistent with these services and provide excellent worship for our community week after week.
Goal for 2008: See our worship services grow by 25% in 2008.
Outreach: Reaching the lost with the gospel is a part of almost every ministry in our church. We are committed as a church to proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Savior to our community and world. Goal for 2008: Continue the outreach efforts of recent years and make a special effort this year to reach unchurched people with a post modern world view through our Youth Ministry and CrossPointPM by holding a harvest event at least six times over the year.
Prayer: Continue to focus on outreach through neighborhood Prayer Evangelism and by using creative ways to reach out to our community using our location (e.g. drive thru prayer), our web site and our sign. Also, continue to grow in our commitment to our prayer Ministry. Prayer is the starting point of all Church ministries.
Goal 2008: See the number of people committed to our prayer ministry double in 2008.
Ministry of Justice: Continue to minister to the needy, poor and downtrodden of our community and city. We recognize that many families in our immediate area are in crisis today! God is making our church a place of refuge and help for them. We will continue to do significant inner city ministry to the homeless and poor.
Goal 2008: Continue to provide food and clothing to the poor of our community through our food shelf and go into downtown Minneapolis once a month to do ministry to homeless and needy people.
Men’s Ministry: We have placed a high priority on reaching out to men in our church and community. We will continue to turn the thermostat down (figuratively) in our worship services and church so men feel more comfortable. When we reach men for Christ women and children will follow. Goal for 2008: On March 8, 2008 we will kick off our Men’s Ministry with a Men’s Wild Game Night. The men’s ministry leadership team has set a goal of meeting at least once a month and having at least three significant events this year that will attack men and boys of all ages.
Church Constitution: The Constitution Revision Committee has done its work and is recommending that we transition our church into an Elder led church. We believe that this change in our constitution will place men and women in positions of spiritual authority and unleash them for ministry.
Goal for 2008: Bring revised constitution to the congregation for a vote by summer 2008.
Political Issues: This year (2008) is an election year. As Christians we need to open up our church to political discussion in 2008 to give people a chance to talk through the important issues of our day.
Goal for 2008: Pastor Dave will do a sermon series on the most important theological/ political issues of the 2008 election and we will have several open forum discussions and post ideas on our church web site.
Finances: We need to continue to grow our church and to grow our financial resources. Our nation is in the midst of a recession and many people in our community are experiencing difficult financial times. We thank God that we have a relatively small debt as a church ($100,000) but we need to be wise as a church and continue to make sure that the finances of our church are secure and strong.
Goal for 2008: Have a special fund drive to pay off our church debt over the next three years.
Missions: God has blessed our church with a strong mission’s emphasis over the years. We need to continue our support of our Ukraine sister church, our BGC missionaries and other ministries that we support.
Goal for 2008: Begin partnership with Shadrack Reeves to support orphanage in Liberia.
Children’s Ministry: Our children’s ministry is growing and touching many families in our church and community. Our church leadership feels that our children’s ministry is crucial to the future of our church and that we can do more in this area.
Goal for 2008: Form a task force in 2008 to research our church and community and find out what we need to do to improve our children’s ministry.
Marriage & Families: Building marriages and families in our church will continue to be top priority.
Goal for 2008: Hold a marriage retreat at CPC the weekend of Friday, February 15 – Sunday, February 17, and a parenting retreat at the church in the fall of 2008. Use Sunday morning sermons and Life Groups to help build strong marriages and families.
